About our Logo
The PRactice logo, seen at the top of the page, was designed by a few of the Regional Conference Committee members - Taylor Thomson, Sarah Alexander, and Karli Peterson. This image represents the PR and community focus of the conference. The arrow coming off of "PR" links back to three larger arrows, signifying a color scheme representative of the three major organizations in the greater Green Bay area.
Backgrounder
The University of Wisconsin - Green Bay’s PRSSA was founded January 24, 2014 after the university’s Communication department changed their classes and format. (Formerly, the PRSSA was founded as the Public Relations Student Organization or PRSO in February 2013.) Four ambitious communication students worked countless hours to ensure that they could charter a PRSSA chapter before graduation.
Initially a chapter of seven grew to many and we are now proud to have almost 30 members. UW-Green Bay’s PRSSA focus has shifted to educate and encourage underclassmen to become more active and take on leadership roles. Also, they have been reaching out to those outside of the Communication Major to promote UW-Green Bay’s focus on interdisciplinarity.
The UW-Green Bay chapter focuses on learning, activities, and fun! The PRSSA plans fundraisers that receive high return and engage other campus organizations. UW-Green Bay is active both on a local and national level by attending the past three PRSSA National Assemblies and are excited to go to more. Their main focus is to gain more members to continue growing and eventually build their own firm.
In 2015, the UW-Green Bay PRSSA chapter also was awarded the Star Chapter Award, a recognition that proves this chapter meets all criteria.
