Aaron Popkey, Director of Public Affairs for the Green Bay Packers
Enjoying his 24th season with the organization, he serves as the primary liaison with local and state government and civic officials, and also oversees external communications for all non-football departments. Through the course of his career, Popkey has been involved in many of the organization’s major events of the past 25 years, including appearances in Super Bowls XXXI, XXXII and XLV, and the redevelopment of Lambeau Field in 2003 and current development projects, including the Titletown District. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1994 and received the university’s Ralph Nafziger Award in 2005. In the community, he serves on the board of directors for the Bellin Health Foundation, Green Bay Marathon, Green Bay Chamber of Commerce, Advance and Live54218, and previously served on the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation.
About his presentation: PR professionals have a tremendous opportunity to portray their organization’s impact in the community. Not only do they have to craft compelling messaging, they need to be influencing the decisions that determine the impact. Prior to working at Festival Foods, Brian was the Regional Director of Promotions and Marketing for Cumulus Broadcasting in Northeastern Wisconsin. Brian has also worked with community events such as the Festival Foods Turkey Trot, the Bellin Run and the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon. He also serves on the Board of Directors for MyTeam Triumph and My Brothers Keeper organizations.
